I have a Partner II system that has been running fine for about 8 years last night we had a power outage and lost power for about 10 hours and I lost my program.
Our system is a five slot unit Slot 1 = 206E Slot 2 = 206E Slot 3 = Processor R4.1 Slot 4 = 206E Slot 5 = Mail VS (2-line)
I programmed (all group 7) #505 VM ports - 32, 33 #206 lines 01 & 02 - VMS Line Cover #506 Delayed #507 Always
Now when a call comes in (and the reception doesn’t answer) it immediately transfers the call to the receptionist after the tree rings and does not play the day prompt
I also noticed that all (21) phones ring when we get an incoming call before, only the receptions’ (ex 10) would ring Any help you could provide would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Laser

If you dial Icm 777 does the mail answer or icm 32 or 33
Its definitely a vs mail and not a messageing as then you would use 28 and 29 in #505
some other housekeeping : #104 set for number of lines in system.
#310 voice mail cover for ext assigned mail boxes
On ext no ringing goto program ext and turn off led on all co lines that you dont want to ring
you will need to put back buttons for lnr f05 paging -icm 70 privacy- f07 voicemail transfer -f14 voicemail -access -Icm 777 date and time #101/102/103 restrictions #301 any line assignments by sta on /off

Set the lines to ASSIGNED, not VMS Line Owner in #206-7-NN-1

Whenever someone comes here because their system lost it's programming after a power outage the first thing they need to realize is that this is not a normal occurance.
All systems have provisions to maintain the program memory during power outages. So, if you lost your programming you have a problem and if you reprogram chances are the very same thing is going to happen again the next time power goes down. Reprogramming is not going to solve your problem.
In most cases, and in particular with a Partner II, the most efficient remedy is to replace the processor. Replace it with an ACS and you will never have this problem because it has user replaceable AAA batteries for memory backup as well as permanent backup to a PC card that you can restore from if needed.

Thank you for the advice, changing the setting of #206 to assign did the trick.
Hal, I was worried about this recurring as it never happened before even with several power outages over the years. As a rank novice, can you let me know where I can purchase an ACS board? And do I program it the same way as my current processor?
Thanks for your help, you guys are life savers.

I always recommend that you purchase Avaya equipment from a local Avaya dealer. That way you have at least a one year warranty and if something goes wrong they are the ones to take care of it. You shouldn't have to worry about this yourself. Though we are happy to help you, you shouldn't have to come here either.
A relationship with a dealer who you are comfortable with is just as important as the equipment.

You can get a new ACS R7 from an local Avaya dealer or you can find use/refurbed one all over the internet, just be sure you get a warranty, yes you program it the same way with a few new features and progamming options.

$800.00+ for a replacement processor board is a out of my budget right now. I can purchase a replacement battery for the current processor module for about $50.00, if it lasts another 3 years I would be a happy camper.
Can anyone instruct me how to open the clamshell of the Processor R4.1?
Thanks,
Laser
