I've been testing some Legend MLX-10D phones and I have three with exactly the same problem. Buttons 1, 2, 4, and Home don't work. How strange is that? This is my first experience with Legends so maybe its not that unusual.

Might want to post this in the equip repair section.
MLX phones are pretty old, but Paul would know what to tell you and I think he repairs them also.
Hope this helps,

The most likely culprit is dirt/crud/spill or a bad membrane. Six of one half dozen of the other. It could be a component issue, but they usually follow columns or rows all the way across or down. If it is a single sided membrane, replace it. If it is a double sided membrane, clean it very carefully so as not to damage the tracings.
