I have an Avaya Definity G3si v.11 phone system with an Avaya Definity Audix v. 3.2 I have a secretary who received a live voice call on her D-I-D line a couple of days ago. The call was not internal. The caller was quite vulgar in nature. We have an idea of who it was but need visual proof of a phone number capture. I do not have any Caller ID software. I tried doing: disp activty log Xxxxx but because there was no message left I cannot capture anything. I also did a li trace station Xxxxx but it will only capture forward. I contacted my telephone vendor and I would have to start a police report, put a trace on the line and also capture forward. Anyone have any ideas on how to capture previous calls within the switch?

Time to buy a call accounting package. Or if you are low on funds you can connect a PC running hyper terminal to the SMDR output of your Definity. Granted neither of these solution will help you with past records, but you will be ready for the future...
