We have a Definity G3si Switch. *69 only works on any stand alone potts lines, not anything that runs through the switch. We'd need special (expensive) software to read the ANI. Doing *69 on any centrex feature option only gives us an intercept tone. Even looking at the disp activity log in Audix will only show that an outside number called but will not supply the calling number. Internal DID lines can be read real easily. Something I've had to live with due to the cost of some Avaya software. Thanks though

I see your dilemma, had kind of the same problem but this was on a Telrad and you can program the ANI on the T1/PRI card without extra software, perhaps gkar or TTT might have a solution.

If we could see the ANI without the software, I'd be thrilled. We have T-1 but not PRI. We're 1/2 in the modern age and 1/2 in the dark ages here. A good company but very conservative in nature and in spending. I'll have to look into that after I get through this eCAS venture. I still have to get that approved. Thanks again.

I would think you could do something under your Managing Displays in the trunk group with *ANI*DNIS for the incomming.

I would think so too. I assume that if I could get the ANI through the trunks on incoming calls it would have been set up that way when we put the system in. As far as I know, Avaya told me I had to buy into software to accomplish it.
I'm not that comfortable with changing trunks. I'll probably have to find someone to hold my hand when I look at that.

Thats a great price. Cheaper than mine. I assume you are doing the install yourself and providing you own PC. Make sure you use a P4. You are also going to need a PRI. Installing Ecas without a PRI is not going to help with your problem. You need the PRI so that you can capture the incoming ANI. Otherwise you will not get anything for incoming. Outgoing will be fine with a T1 or PRI.
Price out a PRI, the cost should be close to a T1.

Ouch... this is getting worse. Adding the price for PRI probably just killed this whole thing. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to dig into this much further before I proceed.
Thanks liquidvw for the advise! Greatly appreciated. Rhonda

The cost of a PRI should not be much more that a T1. Price it out, before you squash the project. Remember that you once the PRI is truned up you will port your DID's from the T1 to the PRI, then cancel the T1. So you are adding one circuit then canceling another. Should break out even more or less in the long run...
