We have a client with an ACS and now wants to have remote extensions for 2 people working from home in other states.

We are looking at putting them on POTS phones using a VOIP gateway like AudioCodes or MultiTech.

Has anyone else done this?

How well did it work?

Any better suggestions?

Thanks.

We did this a while back with Multitech equipment. We have a client with a Partner acs R6 and had an employee that wanted to work from home. Both ends have cable modem internet from the same local provider here in town. We installed the equipment along with their computer people and everything works great. The analog phone sounds great. We have installed other multitech voip equipment with dsl service and that is where you may run into problems. The voice quality is poor, conversations are delayed and cut out. Multitechs tech support is great.

Right. That supports the arguement that using the WWW for something like this is a crapshoot at best.
