I have replaced the batteries in my ACS 5.0 (upgraded from 3) system twice but still get the #29 low battery message. I have checked the polarity of the batteries in the holder and have cleaned the holder contacts. Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Don't know what other suggestions I could give you. If it's not the batteries then the processor has a problem. Time for a new one.

Open the card up and see if the black and red wire are connected to the circuit board.

Why wouldn't they be. Ya think mice got in there all of a sudden one night? Besides, this guy is not about to open anything up.

Did you clean the springs inside. Take a small wire brush and give it a try. I bet there is battery acid build up on the springs.

I have seen the wires inside the processors to come free, because with a lot of the units, the wires are just pushed into the connectors. And why wouldn't you open it up?

And why wouldn't you open it up?

Because he's an end user. Save the tech stuff for the techs.

I'll drink to that! Those little plastic "toggles"(?) are tough enough for someone that knows what to do!
