I have a Definity G3si version 11. I have a technical call center staff member who needs a cordless headset. This headset would need to connect to a 8410D telephone and would need to interact with multiple lines from the headset. What is everyone using and are there any issues with it... besides price?
Thanks in advance! Rhonda

Not sure I understand your question. Do you want the user to be able to handle calls away from their desk- (IE: put a line on hold, pick up a line on hold, transfer a call, etc.).
Or do they just need to be able to talk while walking around away from their desk, perhaps being able to make a call or pick up their ringing extension but that's the extent of it?

Thanks Hal.
Well, I certainly would want them to be able to talk and walk around. Idealy, if they could interact with multiple calls, (Put a call on hold, take a second line call, transfer a call) that would be better. Not sure what such a headset can handle.
I'm just wondering what others are using or have had expeience using.

Generally a cordless headset is just like a corded one- you handle the call from the phone in the usual way.
Some cordless headsets will allow the user to go off and on hook while away from the phone. They can make and receive calls but that's about it. Most cordless headsets do this remotely by using a handset lifter, a motorized gadget that physically lifts the handset when you push a button somewhere on the headset. These headsets are pretty generic, they all connect to the handset cord so they will work with any system and most phones.
Check out Plantronics and GN Netcom. There are too many models to mention here.
If you want to do more than that you will need a cordless phone with a headset. Unfortunately Avaya discontinued the Transtalk which will work directly with your PBX. I would check out Spectralink but their website mentions nothing as to what PBXs they will integrate with.

We have used the Plantronics CS50 headset with the Plantronics HL-10 handset lifter with pretty good luck. These were installed on an S8700 switch with 8400 series phones.
