Hi,
I'm just a regular person, not a phone person.
I have a small, 3-people business and I bought the
Merlin 410 system when I started like 20 years ago.
OK, don't laff too much. It works great.

I have 4 incoming lines. I have 3 rooms and have
3 phones, one in a phone jack in each room. What I want to do is to add more phones in each room.

I know you can have
10 phones with the Merlin 410, but I don't want to run the wires from the main phone box, cause it's too far to each phone.

So, you know how at home, you can go to Radio Shack and buy a little adapter thingie and stick
it in the phone jack and make 2 separate phones,
(I mean the same phone line) but you can put it in 2 areas in your room. Well, it there a little
adapter thingie like that for a Merlin phone?

I have searched the internet & read every post that mentions the Merlin 410. The only person
I found who seemed to know about them was a guy
here named Codasco.... wink who said they use
8 pin RJ45 cords, in a 568B wiring scheme.
So that is the most I know.

Can anyone help me?

I appreciate your help as my local phone company
only knows to tell me to contact the manufacturer
which of course is not around. haha

Thanks,
Sia

Sorry but the Merlin 410 system requires a seperate 4-pair wire run from the controller to the jack for each phone. you cannot use an adapter for additional Merlin sets on the same wire as an existing phone.
your best bet is to find a local tech to do the wiring for you, either here on the forum or maybe
check the yellow pages. here is also a good place to source merlin phones if you need some extras.

You are going to have to bite the bullet and pull in more cables. Phone systems are alot different than home phones so an adapter will not work. Their is an installer link at the top of the page and their are quite a few in your area. I would recommend calling one of them. It will save you time and frustration in the long run.
