We currently have a Partner ACS v6.0 system. All employees carry around a Motorola UHF XU2100 radio.
The boss wants all overhead pages to go over the radios as well. Paging is already done via speakers placed throughout the store powered by a Bogen amp. The ACS system is connected to it via the Page port.
I thought it would be easy to do this. Take the paging output and connect it to the Mic input on the radio, enable VOX on the radio.
However I am reading that the paging output is 600ohms. (line level) Will this work if the radio is expecting a standard electret microphone at its input?

A line-level signal going right into a microphone input will, mostly likely, sound distorted due to overloading the microphone input's circuitry.
Would need to find some sort of external device to convert between from line level to microphone level.

a simple 40db pad inline would work fine for that purpose. Just make sure the mic input is not putting out 48v phantom power. That might damage the output of the ACS.

I would suggest that you contact the Motorola dealer that sold you the radios. Motorola probably has an accessory that will do what you want. If not the dealer should be able to get it done properly without damage to the radio or the system.
