I have a problem with harassment calls going on between someone in the building late at night and an outside residence.
I have blocked a particular telephone number from being dialed from within our company via ARS Analysis and typing "deny."
Does anyone know what I would type into the Routing Pattern field to block a residential telephone from being able to call any of our numbers? Would the word "block" or something similar work?
The internal employee will probably be let go but to curb the issues until I get my next phone bill per proof, I need to do something.
Thank you!!! Rhonda
I almost forgot to note that I have a Definity G3si v.11 with a Definity Audix v. 3.2

Hey Rhonda, are you using ASA?
When you tab over a field and hit help, doesn't it list the available commands? It's been a while, but it seems like I remember something about that.

Yes I do use ASA and I tried but these are my only options:
Route pattern (1-254) partition-route-table index (p1-p2000) HRNPA index (r1-r32) deny node
I'm not sure what node is for but unless it involves some deeper programming, I don't see an option to block an outside phone from dialing in.

I have the perfect solution for you. This has not been documented by Avaya but it works as I use it myself when necessary.
Create an xmobile station like this:
Cell Phone Number: 'ANI NUMBER' aka the number you don't want to call your company. For your inital tests use your cell phone number.
Mapping Mode: origination
AND create a COR with this:
Calling Party Restriction: origination
The system is thinking its an EC500 call but the COR rejects it and it is system wide or you can do it by trunk.

It's been a while since I've been to a programming class so maybe I'm just not following. I'm not sure my system is set up to handle this. You are saying to create an xmobile station? I can "add station xxxx" only as far as I know. I would want the blocking system wide but wouldn't something have to be added per trunk group? Sorry if I'm being stupid as I'm greatful for the help.

This is so cool how it works and it is the only way to do it.
yes, create and xmobile station. 'add station XXXX' where XXXX is a non DID. The station type is 'xmobile'. The xmobile type is EC500, mobility trunk group=ars, config set=1, then under cell phone number enter 2015551212 or what ever number you want to block, use your cell phone number for testing, mapping mode = origination. Now give that station a COR with Calling Party Restriction: origination.
When anyone calling from 2015551212 calls your office, the PBX sees the call as EC500 but the COR rejects it and gives the caller a busy signal. Awesome how things work!!!

I tried to configure the station as you recommended and ran into some road blocks. Mainly that I could not get the XMOBILE Typle: to change from DECT. I checked the customer system parameters and Enhanced EC500 is set to n. After some digging this is what I found...
I am not EC500 Enabled and will need to look into the cost of the "right to use software." I also do not have ISDN lines which are required.
I will keep this note and depending on how badly the company wants this outside blockage to happen, we may or may not proceed. I thank you  for sending me in the right direction... we are just a bit behind the times per the config.

I just tried it using DECT and it worked but the call came in on a PRI. I tried the same setup coming in on POTS and the call completed. I guess your out of luck. You don't really need to activate EC500 you just really need to get a PRI.

I set up the cor to Calling Party Restriction: origination. I left the XMOBILE Type: DECT I tried to change the Mobility Trunk Group to: ars. At this point it will not let me put in ars. It says "The enhanced EC500 feature must be assigned to enter aar or ars.
So close yet so far away. I guess I'll just give up. But thank you!!!
