That's what it sounds like to me too but I just wanted to make sure. No mention was made of an "interface" such as the Valcom (don't know what that Nortel unit is) so I thought this might be a private loop or an audio pair. Apparently it is a Centrex POTS line on the main building dial plan. Dial the 4 digits, the line rings, the Valcom connected to the paging system picks up the line and connects you with the paging system.

That sound right Wayne? Would be nice if we were given more information instead of having to guess.

At my house I just hooked a guitar amp into my Inter-Tel phone system and used some old military paging horns. My neighbors just love me argue

But hey, sure makes it easy to call everyone in for dinner :banana:

I sometimes have problems writting what I am thinking. What type of single line telephone can I hook up to a paging system? Thanks again.

any kind with valcom has a cheap interface wheter its analog line sentrex or even digital centrex valcom has an office in markham ontario

I'll make it easy for you. Get one of these https://www.valcom.com/pdf/v-9970.pdf from Valcom, plug it into your phone line, connect some Valcom self amplified speakers and the power supply to it and Bobs your uncle.
