okay, need to be bailed out again....how do i change the time on our lucent 18d phone?

Is there any word from Avaya that a patch will be released for Partner ACS processors to follow the new schedule for changing between Standard Time and Daylight Time?

Sure the auto time change can be disabled and time changes done manually, but it would be nice to have the system do the change by itself.

I know what your saying dex. I haven't heard of anything yet,.............but sure hope they do.

A patch should be released for Bush so he will start thinking a little bit. I have no idea what benefit this will have and it will cause big problems with everything that automatically changes between daylight and standard time.

You have to remember that there is a lot of old equipment out there of all kinds and nobody is going to rewrite software for it.

Daylight Savings Time was screwed with once before many years ago. That was before there was much of anything that changed automatically. Even so there was such complaining that it was changed back. Betcha this lasts about as long as Bush does so I wouldn't worry too much.

It is crazy isn't it. There will need to be all kinds of patches made for a multitude of equipment.

I wish that they would just do away with time changes all together. Why do we need it anymore? It seems to work fine for Arizona.

Hal, I realize a lot of people think everything is Bush's fault, but you're wrong. President Bush was against the extension of daylight-savings time. It was a "bipartisan" measure that was added to this years energy bill. Since the president has no line item veto, he would have had to veto the entire energy bill to reject the time change.

thank you mdaniel. just got in this morning and did exactly as you said and now the phones are up to date. i don't know whether you remember i asked a while back about the message light staying lit. you all told me how to fix that problem and i did with the light going out but it keeps coming back on...vicious cycle.
but anyway..thank you again for all of your help, i am amazed at the prompt reply i get every time i ask for help.

Avaya has an annoucement that lists all of their products and states their position on patching for new daylight savings schedule. https://support.avaya.com/japple/css/japple?PAGE=OpenPage&temp.template.name=DLT2007 They have announced that they will NOT patch the Partner family for the new schedule.

I stand corrected. I guess stupidity is bipartisan. Only hope is that this is not a done deal yet.

I don't remember your issue with the message waiting light,.........but there is a lot of traffic that flows through here on any given day.
