I don't really want an IP keyset. I was reading an article about asterisks and thought it look interesting. I did not realize that all asterisks phones don't have universal keys like the phones for a regular phone system. I just did not know the logic behind that?
I have been reading many of the post in this forum and I actually can't find a phone system that I like because it seem like all the systems has faults.
The inter-tel forces everyone to lease their phone right? So it feel like your dealing with a leasing company and everything is monthly payments that end up costing you 10 times as much and you still never own your phone system.
The lack of a call log feature on the inter-tel.
Nitsuko 28I lacks a Call log also and seem to be difficult to program and configure.
Samsung does not have caller ID to analog extensions so you can't just buy a Caller ID box and have it log all your missed calls.(maybe you can bypass the phone system in the wiring to get caller ID to your the analog extension?)
Samsung's Caller ID(for digital phone) only shows number but no name unless you get someone to reprogram the settings when it shows name but no number. Thats a pain too.
Panasonic systems look nice but I was reading in a brochure that the intercom room-to-room calls were only 1-way. In other words, lets say you are in the garage working under the car and your wife calls. I guess you can't have a 2-way conversatoin with her unless you pick up the actual phone hook. It just does not place it on a 2-way speaker phone for intercom calls.(I could be wrong but that is how I read it).
This is a very hard decision to make because I can't find a system which has it all. They all seem to have problems.
I need something that
1.Resonable priced system you can buy(not forced to lease)
2. 2-way speaker intercom
3. Full name and number Caller ID to digital and analog extensions.
4. Call logs on phones so you can see missed calls without having to look on SMDR call accounting software.
5. Phones that can have at least 18 buttons. So 1 button per room.(I don't want to memorize extensions)
6. Need about: 18 Extensions, 4 analog extensions = 22 total extensions
7.Optional(but nice) VOIP SIP/H323, inexpensive VM system.
8: Optional (but nice): Caller ID routing
I'm looking for a good match. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions. This system is for Avon,CO
