I have a Partner ACS R7 with a Partner Voice Messaging PC Card (Small, 4 mailbox). I want to configure it for the Auto Attendant to answer during the day. At night I would like a voicemail box to answer in Call Answer mode. At night, I would like a message to inform the calls of our business hours and disconnect them without leaving a message.
Previously Working Night message setup : Extension 10 has a voicemail box set to call answer service and a message recorded. Extension 10 has a VMS cover button (Feature 15) programmed. Extension 10 covers all lines, programmed in #208.
When leaving for the night, hit the button and the message played. Worked great without AA programmed.
Programmed AA tonight and now night message never plays.
Here is what I did: Added a night service button to extension 10. Assigned all lines to Group Call Distribution (#206), Group 7. Set VMS Hunt Schedule (#507) to Day Only. Set VMS Hunt Delay (#506) to 0 rings.
configured AA selector codes for routing, etc.
The AA works fine, but now I cannot get the night message to pickup.
Any Ideas?
We are kicking around purchasing a new voicemail system. Any suggestions would be great. This is a finance company with 6 lines and 10 employees. Currently have an ACS R7 and 308 in a 5 slot carrier.
Thanks

The PC card mails are one level AA. You should up-grade to the Partner Messaging.
What part of western KY are you in.

You have a conflict between having lines answered by the auto attendant during the day, and covered by a mailbox at night.
There is no simple solution, as the lines need to be assigned to the Auto Attendant in #206, OR the covering extension in #208, but NOT BOTH.
So I would invest in an ASA/DXD card. Record your Night Message on that, with the mode set to disconnect. Assign your lines to the Auto Attendant as well, but set it to Day Only.
Then toggle the Night Service button AND the ASA button.
Alternativly, do the famous loop a station to a line port. Make that particular line be owned by an extension that will answer only. Put the looped station in the NS group, and make the Auto Attendant answer in Day Only. The Night Service button turns OFF the Auto Attendant, but turns ON the station that loops back into a line that is covered by a mailbox. One call at a time though....

mdaniel,
PM is on the way with location info.
I have to say guys, you all replied with an answer faster than I could have picked up the phone to call someone!
I cannot thank you enough, nor can I begin to relate how much I have learned from this forum. Thank You!
