Partner ACS R6....2 308 cards.....Partner Messaging R1.0...5 slot carrier

You were able to help me resolve a call forwarding issue with Partner Messaging previously. Now the same customer wants to be able to allow the 'dial O timeout' to ring at the attendant's position which is ext 10 as it should but because the person at ext 10 also has his own mailbox associated with that extension, he wants the dial O calls forwarded to another extension's mailbox if 10 can't answer after a set number of rings. I have tried different settings in the mail admin as far as associating the dial O to go directly to the general mailbox owned by another extension but this customer still wants it to ring at 10 first before going to the other extension's general. Is what he wants even possible?

Try it this way:

Put Ext. 10 in Calling Group No. 4 (#502-4-10-1)

Make a mailbox 74

Make the Dial 0/Timeout option Transfer to Ext. 74

Program the Transfer Return Extension for each of the voice mail ports to point to themselves. i.e., #206-34-34, #206-35-35, #206-36-36, etc. (it may already be that way, most installers don't bother to change them to 10)

Finally, make mailbox 74 have a phantom destination of whatever mailbox you want to receive the messages (I can't remember if this is an option on an R1 - maybe not - in which case, the messages will pile up in mailbox 74, and someone has to be responsible to check them)

Here's what will happen - The 0/timeout calls will transfer to group 74, which only contains Ext. 10, and if not answered will return to the VM port that transferred it, and be answered by mailbox 74.
