I have a customer who took over a building where there is an existing legend system. he would like to use it and set up the warehouse phones so that they can only be accessed for outside use, both incoming and outgoing, by entering a code to access. any sugestions?

You can restrict the extensions so that they can't call out, then use "authorization codes" that do have dial out privilege.

Remove all the SA buttons except one, and one SA-orig button, then set them to No Ring.

Tommy, I have restricted the extensions to no outside calls. In reviewing your reply I sense that this can only be done in hybrid mode. Is that correct?

Yup - didn't realize you were in Key mode. The restrictions I was referring to are ARS Restriction levels. Not giving them direct access to lines or pools, and using the dial-9 routing is the ticket. When they would normally get wave-off for a call, the authorization code allows an extension to "become" another extension for that one shot - an extension that IS allowed to place the call.

Sorry, I don't really have a solution for Key mode

I can only assume that your "Warehouse" phones are single line.

That being said, there is another solution.

You could set the system up as HYBRID PBX, but not assign any lines to any pools. Just assign them to buttons on phones.

That setting will change the number of Intercom Buttons to 3, rather than 2, so before you assign lines, you would probably want to delete the 3rd IC button.

OK, once that is done, and your WAREHOUSE PHONES have the lines assigned, they would have to dial a certain code to access lines for outgoing calls.

If that will suit your needs, let me know an a PM will follow.
