I'm working on an insurance claim where a client lost an Avaya Partner ACS Phone system to lightning. They replaced it with an upgraded 3Com system. I'm just trying to get an estimate to replace the KSU and the cards, as the phones should be working. In the KSU were 4 8 port extension cards, 4 3 port line cards, a voicemail and processor card. Would someone be able to give me an estimate, or someone to contact an estimate? Please be aware that this will not result in a sale. Any help would be appreciated.

Contact an Avaya Business Partner in your area. They will be able to provide you with a written quote (as required by an insurance company) to replace what was there. It is quite possible that not all components will need to be replaced. An inspection will be necessary so don't expect them to do this for nothing.

Hal, the only issue is that the old system has been removed and a new one installed. Therefore, there is nothing to inspect. I'm guessing from what your saying there is no way to get an estimate then without an inspection.

I make it our Company's policy retain all components that are removed due to lightning, flood, etc. These are marked with the customer present prior to removal and documented with digital camera. They are then placed in a special holding area within our shop for 21 days for insurance adjuster review. Perhaps the firm that replaced the equipment has a similar procedure in place? I would go that route - never hurts to ask.

Depends on the insurance company. Ask them what they will require. Usually a small system like this won't even make the deductable so it isn't worth the trouble.

Every time we do a insurance replacement job for lighting we have to meet with the adjuster one on one and give a statement of what happen from the time we walked through the door and what we found.
They do want to see the fried equip. and ask some questions. Also want to know the old systems capacitys and capability. But I have never had an adjuster ask what the old system was worth, but only what it takes to replace it.

The company who replace the equipment does have the original equipment. However, I need a quote as to what it would have cost to replace that system. The original vendor installed an upgraded system so I need a vendor to give me a rough estimate of what it would have cost to install a new Partner ACS system with 12 lines and 24 extensions, using the old phones already in place. Could anyone give me an appropriate range of what that might cost. The original vendor said 00 but that included the 24 phones. Thank you

What I see here is..... Phone system dead due to electromagnetic anomoly.
First of all. When was it installed? What is the Release?. Did it just blow a couple power suppy's and Caps? OR did it fry the the states + or - components?
As an Insurance whatever... First thing??// Six years old? It's been deprcaiated to zero cost.
If it was two to four years old I could understand your bitch.

If you need a rough estimate on replacement cost, you can get them on line. Estimating the installation would be approx. (If I did it) $ 15 hundred.
