Have client with intermitant calling problem, any line, any ext. Partner 2 system R4.1, 12 lines on system. T-1 thru channel bank, makes call and sometimes far end customer can not hear anything or very loud hiss? my customer can hear them perfectly.Started about a week ago. I should state i replaced p2 ksu in 8/2/06,has been working fine. Also 6 wireless headsets with auto lifters on site[interference?].Of course vender of T-1 points to me or Verizon, Verizon points to vender or me. I'm going to replace Ksu with ACS tomorrow,I was on site Friday for 1 hr. before i could duplicate problem, pulled clips on channelbank on one line, could hear loud hiss like modem, but shorted other line with buttset while trying to pull clips on other.Vender replaced channelbank Friday pm. still have prob. Has anyone had a KSU issue like this? Thanks,----John

If you heard the hiss while running tests in front of the Partner system, upgrading to an ACS will not resolve the issue.
When you pulled the bridging clips and heard the hiss, were you listing towards the channelbank, or back towards the Partner?
Was the hiss heard during a test call, or was the hiss heard mixed in with dialtone?
If no T1 errors are being logged by the channelbank and the channelbank itself has been swapped out and the problem remains, I'd be having a serious talk with T1 vendor.

I was using customer line 4 calling line 1 on redial untill Hiss heard, pulled clips and on channel bankside heard hiss on co 1 , but as i was putting other buttset on co 4 ,so i could pull clips ,shorted out line and lost the call. I was trying to isolate Partner system from channelbank but still keep test call in progress. No hiss untill called party picksup. Cavalier is T-1 vender and admitted to having some error, slips and thats the reason for swapout.{channelbank} of course Verizon states that no probs. are on their side in co.

As stated above,Pull the clips off and use your butt set to test call on the channelbank side, kind of cut and dry then where the problem is.

Went back to site Monday and recreated call prob. isolated Partner system from fax lines [2]lines and plugged faxes directly to channel bank. Had client pull fax log out at end of day to show all bad transmissions, now we have record of problem for t-1 vendor. Wish i had thought of this before.-------------John
