We are running Lucent Partnermail VS R4, I recently reset the voicemail settings xxxx Now when someone calls...*SOMETIMES* the receptionist's desk blips once and sends them into the directory, and sometimes rings like normal.
Any suggestions guys??

#728 is used to reset the Partner Phone system and is suppose to save all programed settings.
First what type Partner Sytem do you have?
Sounds like when you did the #728 you lost the phone system programing that in turn has your VM messed up. So to answer your question.........sounds like you need to have your system reprogramed.
It also sounds like you may have an older Partner (Not a ACS) and when it loses power it loses it's programing. So if that's the case you may want to replace the Partner control unit or up-grade to a ACS.
Hope this helps.

Well it appears all the programming has been saved, the vm boxes are set up correctly, and everything else is functioning as normal (the correct stations ring when a call enters) it just seems this one station blips then shoots them to the directory immediately (usually if someone is on hold).
How do I check my Partner System?
The Tech manual says Partner ACS R1.0...

What are you calling "the directory"?
The Partner Mail VS R.4 didn't have a dial by name directory.

Change the operator exstension to another port and change the operator settings to this port and see if the problem goes away. You may have a faulty port on the rigning output or a bad wire associated with this port or even another port. Tell me, does the automated attendant answer on the first ring or is there a delay on the AA system. Set the AA it to delay and program all phones to ring and then see what happens.

I recently reset the voicemail settings...
PM me with exactly what you did and why. I assume everything worked until you did this?
I can't see anything done to the Mail VS would have anything to do with this. #728 wouldn't either. Night service would cause the "problem" all the time not intermittently.

This a long shot but here goes. I have seen ACS's of all releases sometimes like activate DND for certain extensions.
Try unplugging the phone from the wall jack for a few minutes then plug it back in.
