I programmed this voicemail for a customer last year, and I believe they got hacked since they didn't change any of the default passwords. I can not get into the msg managers mailbox 99 it says it doesn't exist. Is there a way to default the VM WITHOUT getting into the msg managers mailbox?

There's no way to remove the Administrator's mailbox, although the password may have been changed.....

I dial Intercom 777
99#
I get the response "Invalid Entry"
I try 9997#
I get the response "Invalid Entry"
I try 10#
It asks me for the password, I put it in and I can change settings for this mailbox.

I'll try the supersecret password next time I'm onsite =)

The "supersecret" (or any) password won't do anything for you if the system won't recognize 99#, the admin mailbox. You have to get past that first.

Reset the system. I would pull the plug, wait 10 seconds and put it back in. Cures a lot of problems. If that doesn't do it figure you have a problem with the VM and it needs to be replaced.

I can't see a hacker problem.

Are you positive it is VS R.5.
Try 0# as the admin mailbox and see what you get.

Thanks guys I'll give that a try. Why is it that you always have these troubles with systems that are 100+ miles from your shop? smile

Just call into it, get transferred to VM. You don't have to be there.
