Hello,

I have recently installed a Merlin Legend PBX phone system. We have 3 loop start analog phone line installed. I went under the lines and trunks -- pool -- and programmed the pool to 70 (main pool). This allowed all the handsets to dial out with no problem. The issue is when someone calls in on any line, the operator phone is the only phone that rings. How can I setup the system so all the handsets (approx 22 ext's) ring. Do I need to have a button on the operator phone to disable the operator phone and configure the coverage function???

Thanks,

Greg

Sounds to me like the only place you have the LINES appearing is on the OPERATOR phone.

Considering you have ONLY 3 LINES, I would suggest that you take the lines OUT OF THE POOL and assign all of them to each and every extension in the system.

Or, do the cheap and dirty thing of setting the system up in KEY mode, instead of Hybrid PBX.

Cover of the Operator would get quite NASTY!

When you say assign them to all of the extensions are you talking about personal lines? I would like when an incoming call comes in, all the phones would ring. The first to pickup the handset would get the call. I don't want the user to have to push a button to select a line.

Put a pool 70 button on the phones - one button that rings no matter which line is ringing in. Only problem is if they answer a call, and another call comes in, now that phone has no ring. Might work for you, might not.

Do you have voice mail/auto attendant? If not, add a night service button to the Operator, and put ALL the phones in the night service group. Keep the NS button turned on.

Will all the lines go thru the Main Pool 70? The end user won't have to select an incoming line to answer? We do have Voice Mail and have some interest in setting up the auto attendant but don't know how to do this yet. If no one answers the incoming call from pool 70, does this go into the general mailbox?

Thanks,

Greg

Greg, I think you need to hire one of the experts here to make all of these things happen for you.

Attn: Moderator,

I received the following email from fuzzyone45. This guy is a total idiot. I am a professional looking for some feedback using this forum. I ask a couple questions regarding a PBX phone system and get the below idiotic response. I would recommend that you band this guy before he contacts other new members and turns them away from an otherwise good forum. Thanks Touch Tone Tommy, your suggestion work just fine.

Thanks,

Greg
