How many single line sets can you put on a single ext on a partner? I have a customer that needs this for Freight elevator lobby in a high rise building. These phones would only be used if the person is stuck there after hours. They are set up as a ring down circuit Currently there is about 14 phones off a single analog port from a s8700.

I doubt daisy-chaining phones will work properly. Best rule of thumb, 1 phone per extension. :thumb:

the issue I see , particularly for this app is what if one malfunctions or is left off hook ?
now you have 13 non functioning "emergency phones "
not a good thing .

I agree that this is not the best situation, but this is how they wanted it handled. If one gets bumped off hook it would call the guards and they would have to find out which one it is. It is not the best way to do it but it does work and has been working that way for a while. I will add that all the elevator phones have POTS lines installed separate from the system and will stay that way. These daisy chained phones are only for after hours when the 10x10 area outside the freight elevator are locked. As far as safety, the doors would have to be locked and the elevator would have to shut down in order for someone to be trapped.

Skip has a valid point worth serious consideration, but it can be done.
Remember that the only real limitation in this type of situation is simultaneous ringer load, if that even applies at all. Sounds to me as if these phones are used for outgoing calls only. That being said, you could easily put 25 analog single-line sets on a station port on just about any system.

Viking electronics makes a ring booster the will boost the ringing. If the phones you have, have a low R.E.N it may allow you to get them all ringing.

...they don't have to ring.
I will add that all the elevator phones have POTS lines installed separate from the system and will stay that way.
So you are saying that there are two phones in each elevator, one connected to the system and one to an individual outside line?

May be I should have been more clear in my description, this is in a 27 story building and from the 16th floor to the 27th floor, there is a 10'x 10' lobby outside the freight elevator on each floor. This is the place that the phones are to be installed. No they don't need to ring, only to call the guard.

Well then, aside from the fact that someone might knock one of the phones off the hook and screw things up, you can certainly put all of them on one station port. I think for sanity's sake, I would split them up a bit on a few different station ports if you can just so they don't lose everything if one phone gets beat up or left off-hook.
They do have some of those line sharing devices, in fact Viking makes one that can be daisy-chained. At least in using these, one phone off-hook doesn't ruin it for everyone else.

how about a used partner two ,carrier, processor and 3 206 modules just for the emergency phones each phone could have its own port, have it autodial out on a trunk port that goes to one 0r two station ports on the existing partner ?
could put it all together for less than 500
it still bothers me having that many "emergency " phones on one port
(please tell me the cabling isn't daisy chained )
