Recently installed an R6 Acs system and trying to figure out a customers complaint about the speaker phone. There is an inconsistant volume on all the phones whenever the speaker is being used. the conversation fades high and low. Any suggestions??

Are there issues with the phones? Can you make any adjustments or do I need to look at changing out the phones? Problem is with ALL teh phones (2) 34D and (18) 18D.

Yes, there have been several issues with the series 2 euro's. No there are no adjustment's. But this really is something that will take some onsite trouble shooting to nail down.

This is the first I'm hearing of this problem, but then I only buy through authorized channels. Wouldn't surprise me if defective lots are dumped into the gray market. 20 phones with the same problem is unusual to say the least.
You wouldn't be using them with an R7 would you?

The opening paragraph mentions an R6 ACS.

Yup, my mistake. I was hoping that maybe this was another R7 bug being discovered.
Another thought. Like I said, 20 phones with the same problem is pretty weird (unless you buy my dumping theory). I know you said that the customer is complaining of "inconsistant volume". The Partner speaker phones are not full duplex. They can only handle one side of a conversation at once. You will hear the caller through the speaker until you say something at which time the speaker will cut off to allow your side of the conversation to be sent. You can't talk and listen at the same time as you can with the handset. Noise levels in the room will have the same effect- cutting off the speaker when they reach a certain level.
Perhaps this is what they are describing?

I know, but did he actually confirm this for himself? Never take the customers word for anything!

I have to agree Hal, I haven't had this problem either. I have seen 308 206's and even processors with bad power supplies cause just this problem, I have also seen the AC cause it. I think you need to do some onsite testing and monitoring.
