I decided to cross-post this question in the General category to perhaps get some more feedback to my issue:

Does anyone here have any experience with adding Wintenna extended range add-on antennas to 900MHz cordless phones?
Thanks for the help, -Scott

When Wintenna first came out with their product, I found out they wer actually right down the road from me. So I took a trip down and bought a bunch of their extended range antennas for the old cordless phones that had the metal base antennas. (this was over 20 years ago). Sold them all. I carried some consumer stuff back then. Then a storm came through and every single one got hit by lightning or power surge. Haven't tried them since. They did work well though. Even back then.

mark...sounds like the moral of that story is: They work well but don't take your phone out in a lighting storm?
