While I got back my dial tone I now notice my phone rings one time every time someone calls the office numbers. Didn't do that before? any ideas?

I'm not sure I understand. We have 7 lines the out line could be any one of them if others are in use.Same applies when someone calls in could be any of the lines.

Are you talking about one main line or all lines ring only ones? What happend after that? If AA picks up you have your lines directed into AA on the first ring or system in the Night mode. If you are talking about one Extension its completely different story. Then ALLN1 said.

My extension is not call forwarded. Yes our lines are directed into AA. My phone only rings once and it is a short ring. Only one ring. In the day menu the master module rings 4 rings before AA picks up, mine only once. One other extension rings once all others do not. I am stumped

Try Feature 00, press ANY SA button or Line button on your phone, then dial *345, then Feature *00.

Your "direct out line" button is probably a POOL button (you never answered my question in the other thread), and in your programming you probably removed and then reassigned it. Now it is set for Immediate or Delayed ring, so you hear the one ring cycle before the Automated Attendant picks up. The procedure above will turn off the ring for incoming calls, but not the ring for calls transferred to your extension.

Do you have a schedule set up for your VM to follow Switch mode or Business schedule? If it is Business Schedule check out your time on the VM. What happend during the Day mode? Do you hear Consol ringing 4 times before VM or you think it is? Check out were your Pool rings during Day Mode Operation. Is it Calling group other then 770? take a look how is your Overflow set up!

By the way have you checked Cover set up on your phone? Maybe you have Delayed Cover for Receptionist set up for 3 rings and your phone rings only once befor its goes into AA?

Thanks Tommy. The feature 00 worked fine. To turn it back on if I want to answer outside lines when secretary is off or out can I use *35 function *00 to turn it back on? Also I understand there is a code that can be punched in on your extension to answer an outside call but can' find it in the quick reference quide. Do you know what it is? Thanks again for your help. J.R.
