Hey guys, If you remember awhile ago I was asking for help on Magix PRI from Verizon. I was sure I had all programming covered and had no doubt that problem with Verizon circute. I don't remember if I told you that I inherited this location from another Company who could not figured out the problems. Today finally after I changed T1 and Main Processor that didn't do anything good I got Verizon zon tech on site with HP Anolizer. He prove to me that their circute works and walked away. To make long storry short I went through everything and in PRI-Protokol- TEI(Terminal Equipment Identifier) found that previouse guy instead of a 0 by default put there 24. I was very pist. As many time as I've done Magix I've never change settings for TEI. As soon as I made it back to 0 T1 came up. That is a storry. Then I set up Outgoing table CBC entry 1-9 and setup services to No Service. It was fenitto.

Good for you!
I was unaware that you could change the Terminal Endpoint Identifier in the Magix. ISDN terminations are a bit like Frame Relay in that they must have a unique identifier (the DLCI) at each node. And like Frame Relay, entering a value of "0" in this field USUALLY indicates that it will be handed to you by the CO (kinda like DHCP too, I guess).
Knowing all that, it makes sense that hard-coding a "24" would have made a mess of things.
I'm not sure about the CBC entries being set for No Service. You should still have the PRI cheater that I sent you for details on that piece.

VAD - Great INFO
The more I work on PRI in this system, the more ways I find it can be messed up.
Another setting I NEVER TOUCH, bit me big time the other day.
I had a SPECIAL SERVICE TABLE, TYPE OF NUMBER, set for INTERNATIONAL, that by default is a NATIONAL.
Again, that was one of those things "I WOULD NEVER TOUCH".

Unbelivable isn't it? Never know what other person would do if he/she don't know what they are doing. But then you come and instead of spending few minutes you stock for couple hours trying to find out what can be wrong.

if you select switch type in the PRI table to either Merlin Network or Merlin PBX the TEI is setup with a unique Switch ID for PTP application and will also setup you B Channel groups to be in group 64. This is how you network Magix via a PTP PRI. I also do a print after setup so I can do a Stare and Compare...Bob

We all need to remember that the system was running just fine for about 6-8 months until there was a power outage 6-16-08. After that reboot the inbound calling has not worked.
No programming changes were made.
We can have the auto attendant answer when you dial 9 and the number and the auto attendant works. That's because the call never leaves their router.
They can see that the call was re-routed right back into the phone system by the router's table.
The auto attendant will not answer when a call is made from outside to the building. That's why I belive it's a provider issue from the CO to their router.

What could we tell the provider to look for?

TK, you may want to start a new thread if you have a question. This thread is over a year old.
