First verify it's LD only and if bothways or just incoming or outgoing. When talking to the LD company don't even mention the local lines and if asked if they have been checked just say why we have no trouble on local calls. The first thing they want to do is pass the buck. You could help them by seeing if the troubles are to or from a certain area, sounds like they have a bad trunk group to me, like a bad carrier group.

In year 2000, on Dec.31st I was Installing Partner ACS Rel.1.0 at doctor's office. On Jan.3rd I had a call with complains about crosstalks. They were complaining on hearing as somebody dialing out or another Extension's conversation. I was sure it is CO lines but after I disconnected lines and test'em I couldn't find any problems with CO. Then I call on Icm. from one Ext. to another, established conversation and used third one to go out on disconnected CO lines. I found out that all Exts can hear DTMF on CO #2&3 and those two were crossing inside ACS. You can try same test and see what you are going to find out. If you wouldn't get anything wrong it is not a system. One more thing. Take a voltage and closed loop current mesurments on Co lines as well.

I had the same problem with a meat packing plant it was weird and very intermittant. I replaced a trunk/line card and it worked fine. I made 3 trips and it would never happen when I was there till that last time when I was walking out the door and she called me back in to witness the call and they had talk battery (no voice) and the caller could hear her the whole time and didnt hang up (bless the caller) and was patient enough to wait till I found the problem. When I transfered the deal call to another telephone it was still dead, so I assumes it to be the truck card and it was. Jim
