Inherited problem: Another company installed a DID card using 6 trunks. On the operator phone they programmed buttons (7/11/12/13/14/15) for the 6 trunks. When she parks the calls and they are being held no one can call that extension (busy)and all other incoming calls get a busy signal. This seems to happen when then 2 or 3 calls come in back to back. Not really familiar with this system and the manual is…well.

If you have only 6 DID Trunks and all on hold at the Consol sure you are going to have busy cause no available lines. You need more lines or you need Voice mail to handle Incoming traffic. What ever comes to call the Operator you have to assign more System Access buttons per Consol(up to 8) if this is DLC consol. If it QCC then only 5 buttons for incoming traffic.

OK, let me expand on what VAD was saying.

There is no reason on earth for the D-I-D trunks to appear on the Console.

I have been doing this for quite a while, and I have developed somewhat of a "STANDARD" design for such cases.

First, I have only seen one instance (Since 2001) that required a QCC, so you can pretty much rule that out.

Now, back to the D-I-D scenario.

If a call comes in for an extension, that is in the D-I-D range, then the CONSOLE shouldn't even be in the picture.

If, on the other hand, the CONSOLE is receiving a lot of calls, you must determine why.

That is, are these calls coming in identified as:

"COVER DID #?"

If so, there is probably a conflict between the NUMBER BEING SENT and your DIAL PLAN.

-OR- If these calls are VOICE MAIL overflow, there are adjustments that can be made.

ALSO, if this is a DLC (Direct Line Console) then I would suggest it should be programmed with at least 5 SA buttons, and for sure, do away with the appearances of those D-I-D trunk ports, LIKE NOW!
