We took out a Merlin Plus system that had a Merlin Door Box and a Merlin Door Box Controller that was made by Harris Dracon, Harris part number PEC 5324-001 (Model 22050-055) and is not the Viking made for Avaya new door box controller.

As I understand it, the doorbox was not working when we replaced the system, but the Harris/AT&T Model 22050-055 Door Box Controller was powered up and plugged into line 8 of the phone system. Probably the doorbox died, but I have a good working spare I can use.

Pins 13 and 14 are labeled speaker and probably went to the doorbox voice pair and 10 and 11 are labeled door bell button so they probably went to the second pair on the doorbox.

I searched the Fluke website but there is no documentation and assume that when Fluke bought Harris Dracon they didn't want to maintain prints on discontinued product, thanks guys.

On the front all dip switches except #2 are set to Open.

There did not appear to be a cable in the [J2 to Central Office] jack and there was a single pair of the [J1 to Host System] going to line 8 of the Merlin Plus, thus I assume this was meant to work without a live CO dial tone.

I can do a N/O (normally open) to Common connection on 4 and 5. Can anyone tell me what code I would use to get a contact closure or would you have a cheat sheet to set a code they want? (I am assuming the dip switches set a code for contact closure.)

These guys are behind in the rent and the Plus died, so I am kinda pitching in to see if I can make the doorphone and doorphone controller work.

Thanks, Bunnie

The original Harris doorphone and the Page Pac stuff is now made by Valcom under the Page Pac name. They have a separate catalog and website for it. https://www.pagepac.com/

Thank you so much for the info. I was able to find the total doorbox manual on the pagepac website and it is https://www.pagepac.com/mall/doorcontroller.asp so if anyone is searching for this doorbox again they will have everything they need.

The manual gives you the option to change the default door opening code from 6738 so that will be helpful.

Thanks to hbiss for the info on Harris/Fluke selling this off to Valcom, I never would have thought to look there and a google search for "Door Phone Controller" does not find the Valcom site, but does find the newer Avaya Door Phone Controller made by Viking.

Hal, Thanks!!!

I know this is an old post but it just bailed me out big time.

How interesting that Valcom picked up the old Lucent Harris Paging product line. As I thought they did.

Now I can get my 8 to -10 year outside door phone repaired at Valcom.

I did a key word web search and Sundance came up 1st.

Unreal!

Thanks Again!
