The system consists of following modules:
From left to right
206EC MODULE R4.1
206E MODULE R3.0
PROCESSOR MODULE R3.1
PARTNER MAIL VS R1
The phone system died suddenly.
Removing the 2nd module ie 206E Module R3.0,
lights on remaining 3 modules were back solid green.
If the 2nd module is put back on,
light on the first module flashes,
light on the 2nd module went out,
light on the 3rd module went out,
light on the 4th module came on for short
while and went out.
Is it possible to repair the 2nd module?
Any thing I should do to confirm that the 2nd module is dead and needs to be replaced?

Any of those modules can be repaired.

Given the age of the modules, upgrading to the current Avaya Partner ACS would be worth considering.

You could build the system around the R6 processor and add an expansion module or two as needed.

If the Partner Voice Messaging system is a better fit for your needs, you would be able to use that with the Partner ACS.

You can take the power cord out of the 5 slot and plug it directly into the 206E-r3.0 to see if you get a green lihgt, if you do, then take the 206C-r4.1 and the voice mail card out of the 5-slot, put the 206E-R3.0 in slot 1, slot 2 empty, slot 3 Proc. R3.1, slot 4 & 5 empty, and see if that works, if it works, then put everything back the way it was. But i think you have a bad 206 card.

Just order another 2x6 mod.,always turn power off before inserting or removing of mods.Plug replacement card in after marking location of all cables plugged into it, this keeps all ext. numbers the same. No reprogram will be needed. John
