Hello everyone

I just recently bought a music on hold coupler for my Avaya Phone system. I connected the coupler with with RS-11 to my path panel on one side and RCA cable that going to a PC where the music playlist is playing on the otherside. I also set up the option on avaya software and change the option features to music and assaign a port. when i test between two phones and i put it on hold i dont here the music why what am i missing here?

Also when i assign a port to music on hold is it an analog port or digital port i have to assign because all use digital 4606+ and 4 Fax machines analog?

thanks

You have to assign Analog Trunk port but not an Analog or Digital extension.

You need a spare analog Co line port. Under lines and trunks programing.

What system is this??

If it is a Legend or Magix, "test between two phones and i put it on hold i dont here the music" won't work. You need to call OUT through the phone comapny, then answer the incoming call from another phone and place it on hold.

I am going to assume that you are working on some flavor of communictation manager. If so, you don't need a coupler. That is only needed if you are outside of the USA or if you are using a non UL appoved MOH device. That is not the case, so get rid of it. Next connect the output of the MOH to any analog port or AUX port. Then program the port under 'cha sys feat' page 1 or 'cha music' depending on your software version.
