I have heard (and it's only hearsay) that they have a decent hotel/motel package, but at the same time, I have also heard that a lot of Atlas dealers end up jumping ship and leaving their customers high-and-dry. I can only assume that it's due to name recognition issues and they aren't successful in selling the systems on a regular basis.

We were an Atlas dealer in the early nineties and didn't really have any trouble with Key System US, the distributor/owner of the Atlas product line. We still have one of their voice mail systems installed and working. That says something good about their products.

We only stopped selling their systems because the one we were selling through them at the time (the Siemens 40/80) was discontinued and they didn't have anything to offer us to support our existing customer base that bought them from us.

We have recently been hired to go in and fix a bunch of problems for a business locally that bought an Atlas system from a defunct dealer. We were able to resolve most of their issues, but the customer is already talking about replacing the system after only one year. It's not because it doesn't work; it's just because they aren't comfortable with not having local access to anyone local that actually sells/services it.

There is another post on the Phonesuite system you may want to look at. (sorry for installers only)
https://www.sundance-communications.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?/ubb/get_topic/f/22/t/000437.html

Also Transtel makes a 80 port cabinet expandable to 640 that has a nice motel software package not much information on line for the new software

Phone Suite is a very nice system. Has a lot of features for small motels. I have sold one and another on the way.

The post by metelcom about phonesuite takes you to a page that says "You are not permitted to enter this area" or some such.

Just when I was going to start building a motel. Darn, rats, doggoneit, oh futz.

Bunnie,
I had no problem. It's in the installers category if you want to read it, subject is PhoneSuite.

Mitel is probably the most common for hotel/motel applications. We've got a few Toshibas and a Comdial in some smaller motels.

From the other PhoneSuite thread:
"Look like a copy of the SX-50, but apparently with updated software."

Interesting....

Well, regardless, I agree that Mitel is a standard. I can only remember staying in three hotels/motels that didn't have a Mitel system...one was small and Comdial InnTouch was a new/flashy thing, the other two were large hotels, one with a System 75, the other with some flavor Comdail system (it was the large Newark Airport Days Inn..suprised me they were using Comdial).
