I've got this setup (MailVS in slot 1 and ACS in slot 3). I've gone thru the setup and configuration in the manual, and everything appears working as far as the ACS configuration, but when I press [Intercom][7][7][7], all I get is a fast busy. I simply cannot seem to get into the mail configuration menu.
I have the extensions 38 & 39 assigned to Hunt Group 7, but cannot seem to get past the I777 command.
Any help to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.

Is this a 5x9 (ACS R7) or a 308 (ACS R6 or previous)
If a 5x9 the extensions in #505 group 7 should be 23 and 24.
If a 3x8, 22 and 23.
Not 38 and 39.
You can test, by dialing the extensions, if it is a voicemail port, you will hear "Transferring call"

Then I totally misunderstood Figure 2-1 in the Partner Mail book. It's an ACS R3, it's definitely a 3x8.
I switched the programming to extensions 22 and 23 and it's working fine.
Thanks for the fast respond and excellent help.

Okay, it WAS working. The mailbox 99 password was unknown, so I got it reset. Now, we're right back at the same problem. The [Intercom][7][7][7] gives me a fast busy. BUT, extentions 22 and 23 are the ones assigned and setup...so something else must have occurred.
Is there anything in the voicemail reset that would have cause it to stop responding?

Make sure that Green light on VM is steady. Dial each ext. to make sure VM responded. If you get busy again try to power down the system and power back up.

Yes, the power light is on and steady. The only other light is the HDD light occasionally going on and off (normal-looking HDD access).
Dialing Ext. 22 and 23 give me a fast-basy (as does I777). I turned the system off and powered it back up...no difference.

The HDD light shouldn't be active by itself. Something heppend to your VM. Try to push it back into carrier or reseat the VM card with power off. If for any reason you turned system off while VM was on you could damege it.

All I did was the VM reset.
Anyway, I reseated the card (of course, with the power off). I still get nothing but a fast busy with I777.
And the HDD light run pops on occasionally. For example, when I enter the I777 (and get the fast-busy), and then look at the system, I see the HDD light on for a second or two.
Any other ideas? (And thanks for the help so-far)

If Com.#505 has exts 22 & 23 asigned in group 7 then the only can be bad is the VM. I think you have no problem calling any exts in the system, don't you? just make sure that in com. #505 except those two exts. no any others like those 38&39. make sure of it.

I guess what confuses me is that the VM was fine until I had it reset. Why would that screw it up?
Is there any place that handles repairs on these cards?
Thanks
