We have 2 phones systems:
Lucent Partner ACS R3 with 1 308ec expansion
And
Avaya Partner ACS R3 with 1 308ec expansion

From what I always understood, these are both the same system.

The company that used the Avaya system, we relocated to another location and the system is now not in use.

Reading an install manual. It seems like I should be able to take the unused 308EC and put it in one of the free card carrier slots? This in theory should make our 6 line 16 EXT Lucent system into a 9 Line 24 Ext System.

Would this work and if so, is it as simple as just turning the system off, putting in the 308EC and turning it back on then of course, programming which button the new lines will be on the phone??

It would be worth the money to call a local Avaya Business Partner to get your system up and running.

Thanks for the reply.

I wasn’t around when the 2nd system was installed. We did have some company install it. However, from what I heard, the plan was to expand our existing system and not add the 2nd but for some reason they said it could not be done. This was many years ago and nobody seems to remember the reason why.

Anyway, from what I read, these systems can be bigger then what we currently have. I always wondered if someone just wanted to sell us the whole system instead of just another 308ec.

Yep,..........if your running R.3 you could get 40 extensions and 15 lines by adding cards.

But you would be better off to contact a local dealer and let them set it up to fit your needs.
