I have a customer with an older Avaya which has 2 5-card carriers with a cable connecting the processors. All of the station modules are 206E ver 4.1. They recently had a nearby lightning strike and I replaced the processor in the expansion module. The processor on the main carrier has no slots for PCMCIA cards or any place to install batteries I think it is a ver 3.1. When I power down the unit I lose all programming, I am doing a #728 to save programming but it is still all lost. Is there a problem with this processor or am I missing something to save the programming?

Theres a battery in your processor in cabinet 1
thats probably dead.
Its a solder in ,so you may want to consider a battery back up on system and /or replace the processor with a refurb with a good battery.

3.6V

there are three 1.2v lithium type disc cells that make up 3.6v

Snip the old battery off carefully and soder to the old posts. It's Much faster that way.
