Hello all, I have an interesting problem. I have four lines which all have basic calling plans except the first line which has unlimited dialing to everywhere. With someone picks up a handset, it automatically chooses the first available which is usually the first line. Unfortunately, people like to select other lines when picking up the phone instead of just dialing out on the line the system picks. My question is, can I stop people from picking up and selecting another line when the first line is not in use? My main concern is that we have a the line with the unlimited plan not being used while other lines with basic plans are being selected. Changing plans is not an option here. Hope you understand my question. Thanks in advance!

You can change the auto line select to pick the lines in any order you want, including not picking ANY line, causing them to have to think before getting a line.

Certain problems are solved by technology...others by management. This is a management problem.
Short of sedating someone, there's no way to force them to choose a particular line. Tom's suggestion creates a scenario that causes the user to think. I love it.
If you already have Automatic Line Selection in place, follow up with firm instructions to simply lift the handset (without manually choosing a line) prior to placing a call.
