Hey guys, I have a customer who has trouble dialling 1-800 numbers. This problem just started happening when one of their trunk providers stopped providing 1-800 access. I have now routed calls thru another T-1 which has 1-800 access, yet when dialling over that trunk group, I get the message "you have dialled a number to which long distance charges apply, please dial the digit 1 and then your number". This makes no sense to me, as I am using the same ars entry, just changed route-patterns. Below is a list trace if it helps. BTW I already tried inserting a 1 in the route-pattern to no success.

Can you post your route pattern? I would start by making a change the pfx mrk on your route pattern.

I would first enter the home area code in the NPA and enter a 1 in the pfx mrk.
You should be using a prefix mark for all routes that are not TIE trunks.

In your ARS table, what call type do you use for 1800? fnpa?

I don't see any reason why this shouldn't work. I would try another prefix mark first. If still no go, then I would open a ticket with the provider of your T1. The call is hitting the trunk but for some reason the trunk doesn't like it.
Valid enteries for prefix mark are 0 through 4.
Also try removing the area codein the NPA. I know I said to put it there, but try it without it as well.

Thanks, I have tried all that and still no dice.... I had a ticket open with the T carrier since the problem began, seeing as there were NO changes made to the 8720 when it stopped working.
