Any options out there? I would think that one could just hook this up to the data port on bottom of the phone. So really what I would be looking for would be a single line cordless phone/wireless headset. Not looking to be able to dial from the headset just answer calls, so dial pad isn't necessary. I don't want it to hook in through the headset and use a lifter. gets too bulky, etc.

Plantronics says that the avaya units they used to have are discontinued?

Thanks,

-jr

As far as I know Plantronics never had a bluetooth headset for Partner and that's what everybody asks for. Most of their offerings connect to the handset cord and require a clunky lifter.

I believe the reason for this design is that it's universal, it can be used with most manufacturers phones. Partner is unique with the analog aux jack on the phone. It makes it easy to use things like headsets but the market is limited so Plantronics and other headset manufacturers can't make any money making a product that will work just with Partner.

The Partner headset base that Avaya sells for use with corded headsets and connects to the aux jack is actually made for them by Plantronics. When Avaya foots the bill Plantronics is happy to make it but don't hold your breath for anything more for Partner. Avaya is only spending money on the IPO.
