morning all-
I use the 513 error listed in the error log to determine if digital sets are probably unplugged, then I status the station to confirm. I have found that this is not a reliable tool to use for analog stations. Is there a way to determine remotely that an analog device is not plugged into a port on the switch?

there is no "communication" between the analog station and the system like there is for a digital set, so the answer is - not really.

I usually turn the test to "no" on the analog stations so we do not get errors logged against them. But if you have the test turned to "y" and find one in alarm, then it is probably failing test number 48 which is the ring generator test. This means it is not plugged in.
Not the best way but it is a way.

Mike...your right on...not the best way but it works.....except when you do like I did and forget about "modems" they don't show up on the test..think I disconnect about 10 of em...only took me half a day to get them all toned out and re-crosscut....Lesson's learned I guess..

I set all of my analog stations to test=N. This way I don't see any warnings in my alarm log.
