my customer has a R7 processor with voice mail. They have all 18d phones, I programmed a call screening button on a button with lights. I toggle the call screening button on, call the receptionist she then transfers me to the extention with call screening on. I am not able to hear myself leaving a message in the mailbox. Is there anything I'm missing? It should work with no problems.

How are you placing the call? Intercom or Outside Line? Are you calling FROM the phone with call screening on?

When you try it. Are you calling from an outside source?

I tried calling from an outside line (cell phone) and I also did an intercom call from one extention to another. All extentions on the system have a call screening button programmed on a button with a light

Do any of these conditions apply to you:
Considerations
â– Call Screening must be programmed on a button with lights.
â– This feature is not available at tip/ring, proprietary cordless, or wireless telephones.
â– This feature can be turned on only by pressing the programmed button. It cannot be accessed by dialing the Call Screening feature access code.
â– An incoming call can be screened at that extension only if the extension is the Line Coverage Extension for that line, the call has been transferred to that extension, the call is a DID call, or the call is an intercom call to the extension.
â– If the user is currently on a line or intercom call, Call Screening is ignored.
â– After a call has been sent to the voice mail system, you cannot use the Call Screening feature to screen that call. Call Screening must be on before or while the call is ringing at the telephone.
â– Users cannot create a conference call while screening a call.
â– While a call is being screened, dialpad button pushes are ignored.
â– A user cannot enter program mode while screening a call.
â– Dialable features that interrupt Call Screening are: Last Number Redial (F05), Station Lock (F21), Personal Speed Dial (F80-89), and System Speed Dial (F600-699).
â– Programmed buttons that interrupt Call Screening are: Do Not Disturb (F01), Save Number Redial (F04), Last Number Redial (F05), and Station Lock (F21).
â– If the voice messaging system extension does not have Automatic Extension Privacy (#304) turned on, other users can bridge onto the call. If a user bridges onto the call, a forward disconnect signal is sent to the voice messaging system, and it disconnects from the call. This causes the screening extension to be dropped from the call, and the person who bridged onto the call is now talking to the calling party.
â– You cannot screen a call if the Cell Phone Connect feature is active.

â– Programmed buttons that interrupt Call Screening are: Do Not Disturb (F01), Save Number Redial (F04), Last Number Redial (F05), and Station Lock (F21). This is the only thing that is a ? to me.....how does it interrupt call screening. I assume it means that if the station has a dnd button and it is toggled on that the call screening will not work. How so does redial interrupt call screen? I have no other idea as to why its not working.

I think that it only interrupts Call Screening if you push Redial while it is screening. That was just a cut n paste from the docs.

When you say Partner Mail, I assume you mean Partner Messaging? If so do you have the PC card mail or the Partner Messaging circuit pack? And is the screen button on a button with lights?
