And another thing....
I just got off the phone with the Motel I did a couple of weeks ago.
Be sure and tell the operator to NEVER touch the CHECKED OUT STATUS Button and then their DSS Key, 'cause when they do, they can no longer call out.

Thanks guys for all your help
This is an update !!!! Went to site, put the RIGHT keys on the console. The keys work fine, changing status of the rooms on the DSS. NOW another problem has stuck its ugly head up. The restriction is not working on the phones. Even when I go to the screen to FULLY restrict a phone from out going(not ARS restrict) it still lets the phone call out longdistance and local ???I am going to check out the printouts and see what i can find. All phones have a FRL 3(default)

Just want to add I have checked this
"Under "OPTIONS" check "Ext Status", and if it is set for "HOTEL", then ES2 will keep the extension from dialing out."

Is this system KEY or PBX?
Do you have lines assigned to the extensions in the rooms?
I would suggest a print of the extension info for any of the extensions NOT affected by ES1 or ES2, and a print of your System Set Up.

Well !! I think i found a problem. After alot of reading I found that the outward and Toll restrictions don't work when using a T1 set up as Tie-PBX. ARS or pool dial-out codes should be used instead. Now the question is when using ES1 or ES2 what does it control !!!!

Is this trunking to another PBX?
If not, that is, if it is being served by a Central Office, then TIE-PBX is an incorrect setting.
I still think the print outs I suggested could glean some useful info.

I am confused on your comment that "TIE-PBX is an incorrect setting."
I may be wrong but on every T1 that I have put in when they are set up for wink, I program the channels as tie. when you pick tie it shows up in the print out as TIE-PBX.

The TIE-PBX setting should be for Tie Lines between 2 "PBX's", not back to the Central Office.
For Tie Lines connecting the MAGIX to the CO, the setting should be TIE-TOLL.
The reason is, Extensions can not be outward or toll restricted if they are using TIE-PBX Trunks. In theory, the restrictions are handled by the "HOST" PBX.
The story book doesn't say if that also affects ES Status restrictions, but I'd be willing to bet that it does.
