I have a customer with a Magix CKE5 rel-3.0 v7.0 I have been banging my head against a wall trying to get the extension status to work in hotel mode. I have a Lab legend CKE4 7.0 v10.0 and have it working great !!! Took all the programming notes and programmed the magix. From the magix console pressing ES0, ES1, or the ES2 keys then press the room number on the DSS it does not work. The lights do not change status, solid, blinking etc.print out said the console IS in ESS SUP status Active. magix is in the HOTEL mode. Even tried to put a room ext on a console key. Just a note I have a MLX 10 B on my LAB system setup as operator with the ESO,ES1, and ES2 keys and it works great !!!

Does the DSS work otherwise? Can you dial an extension by touching a button on the DSS? If not, your DSS may not be operational, or the page(s) of the DSS may need to be renumbered to match your extension numbers.

We have 2 systems with Legend R7, V10 and experienced that DSS can cause the problem you encountered. (We do not have Magix system.)You can try to replace the DSS and the cable from console to DSS. You also can test your operator console by press ICOM (intercon Button), then "speaker", dial *00, if all the lights of console and DSS are on, the console and DSS are good.

fone32: From your original post I wasn't 100% sure. I am also testing with an R7. When I tried it in my lab, mine was acting like yours until I set the Console in the ES Status Mode. Before when I touched the ES buttons, the console would beep (error tone) at me. Now when I touch the ES buttons I get, Available, Occupied, or Check Out in the display. What happens when you touch your ES buttons? Are you working with just 1 console? and are you 100% sure you have the right Ext. for the console you are using? When I was testing mine, I printed a Setup report. At first it showed me in Hotel Mode but the ES Operator Ext was blank. After I set the ES Status under Extensions I reprinted the report and the Operator Extension was in there. One other thing, on the console, you programmed Operator ES buttons, not just ES buttons right? Lastly you might try backing up the R3, Convert the file to R7, and then load it onto your lab switch to see what happens. I'm sure you've checked some if not all of these suggestions. No need to answer any of these questions. I'm just throwing out whatever I can think of, hoping something will stick, but if you figure it out, let us know!....Good Luck!

mark1040,
Thank you for your response. The DSS works fine on the Magix. I can press a button and it will call a room, When I press a es button it does say on the console(4400 series) occupied Checked out, Available. When I go and press the key a room(ext) on the DSS it does not change the status of the phone, I even tried by putting the room(ext) on the console and that does not work either.

I think you should do a PRINT of the EXTENSION INFORMATION for the Operator position.
That way you can tell if your ES1 and ES2 buttons are programmed with these codes:
ES1 = *761
ES2 = *762
*44 and *45 are for the ROOMS themselves, NOT THE OPERATOR.
If they are programmed as they should be, then we will have to look elsewhere.
