Partner ACS R5 VMail PCcard Large 16mboxes in use. 41 physical extension ports, last extension in use is 37. AA answers on RNA and weekends; client usually forgets to turn on Night service. Selector code 4 to ext 40 for directory, 5 for direct station transfer. AA answers correctly, and can select extensions from AA and leave messages. This is a new client for me so I don't know if the directory message was working propely before but they redid it yesterday and now they report two problems; when going thru ext40 for directory 1) there is a long period (like 12secs)of time before the message plays(not sure if this is customer dead air but unlikely since they are a video production company and know how to do recording) 2) cannot select an extension either during or after the message plays, Tried * and extension, tried extension number but responds with invalid entry. Recent work; reinitialized all vmail passwords. Added a few non vmail extensions, reprogram buttons on console, reinitialized sys password, repaired customer run extensions wiring. Turned on MOH but client hasn't hooked up his source yet as of Friday. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To get to an extension out of a mail box, you will need to press *T then the ext number.
The PC mails don't have a directory listing, but I assume your using the mail box for 40 as a work around.

Make sure x40 is assigned in #310, then in #321 make the cover rings 1.

I think what you mean is, you have 32 physical ports and your exts go up to 41. That would be the case if you had a processor and 3 308EC Modules. If you use 40, it tries to ring 40 first. If you use an unequipped ext instead, ( like 42, or higher) for your directory it will go just as quick (maybe a few seconds quicker) than changing the cover rings on 40 to 1. This is assuming you have nothing in slot 5. (like a 400 Module)
