Ok heres the problem. Brand new partner r7 with 5 phones. the 6th phone is on permisses. They have 3 Vonage line into the partner.extension 17 has a multitech MVP130 plugged in and sends callers to the off permiss phone, where a multitech MVP 130S is there with a analog phone. All phones are set to ring, so the person at home (x17) can answer and transfer and what not. the system was working fine for 3 days...NOW the phone rings once and extension 17 pick up and tehn hang up. Avaya says, they don't support Vonage lines. Does anybody know what may cause this?? Please you help would be great

There are 3 components in play here.

Avaya Partner System ( been around for friggin ever)
Multitech VOIP device (VOIP is a 4 letter word)
Vonage

Get rid of the Vonage and then the only troublemaker will be the Multitech.

The Multitechs have nothing to do with Vonage, they are connected via the public internet and the ISP providers on each end.

That said, I thought Vonage was being sued into oblivion. Too bad they are still around.

What happens when you intercom x17?

rings...., then after 5 rings voicemail answers... It's only when thise F*@'n line are in the system. Multitech techs had me put both multitech routers at one site and see if that works...it does...till you add lines to the mix.

Well then it has to be Vonage somehow and you ain't gonna figure out why. Just get rid of them, easiest way.

I fail to see how Vonage DIAL-TONE is causing a "ring-trip" on Ext. 17.

You have an R7. So you have Ext. 10-18. Go into programming, and use #301 to remove all lines from 18. Loop Ext. 18 into CO port 1. Call Intercom 18 from another phone, which should simulate an incoming call on line 1. Does Ext. 17 still answer and disconnect?

As much as I have no use for Vonage, Tommy does make a point. Do you have any POTS line on the premises that you can test this with? Otherwise try as Tommy says.

ok,tried that. Same thing. Multitech picks up call and hangs up. It's plugged into extension 17 and when a call comes in I see extension 17 pick up and drop it. I made sure there network will allow the calls out and in on the internet...lost and need directions.

Don't know what you want us to tell you. If you did as Tommy or I said you have eliminated the Vonage dialtone and you still have the problem. You can intercom no problem. What's the difference?

I assume that you plugged a single line analog phone directly into 17 on the processor and get the same results?

If not it sounds to me like this is a Multitech problem somehow.
