I helped a friend install a new ACS rel.7 5x9 purchased from Metroline. The battery and battery clip was missing from thr box (someone had robbed it at metroline. We robbed a clip from a ACS rel.6 and tried two sets of batteries. We could not get the message to clear. My friend put in a call to Jessie at Metroline but he didn't return the call yesterday (around 4 pm) We reset the system and even put the batteries in backwards. Am i missing something? I have had other systems display the same thing and after i replaced batteries the message would clear.

Double check the voltage on the batteries before putting them in. Sometimes even supposedly "new" batteries are low. Also when putting in the batteries, push in to get a better connection. Sometimes old, leaky batteries cause corrosion on the connectors. Watch the display at extension 10 while pushing in the batteries.

It should clear. If you are sure that the batteries are good, well, all I can say is that's what you get for buying gray market. :nono:

Send it back and tell old Jessie to send you an R6 unless you want more problems.
