Hi.

I was wondering if anyone has a PBX-to-PBX connection using a SIPURA product like the SPA-3000.

When dealing with a PBX you normally have 2 types of cards when talking about analog lines.

1. Trunk card(allowing for analog trunk from your CO into the system)

2. Analog adaptor card (allowing for analog devices to connect to your PBX)

I’m trying to find out if you wanted to bridge 2 offices using a SPA-3000 product, what part of the phone system would be connected to what slots and what type of functionality would you get?

Connectivity question:

1. What ports can you connect between the 2 SPA-3000 in the 2 different locations? For example, can you call from FXS port on SPA-3000A to FXS port on SPA-3000B?
FXO port on SPA-3000A to FXO port on SPA-3000B
FXO port on SPA-3000A to FXO port on SPA-3000B
Etc…

2. You do not need a VOIP or SIP service provider if you just want to link 2 different PBX locations do you?

Phone system integration question:

1. Do you connect the FXS connection to a port off the Trunk card?

2. Do you connect the FXO connection to a port off the Analog adaptor card?

3. Do you have a choice when calling remotely to either access the SPA-3000 via accessing the FXO slot(from an analog extension in your PBX) or dialing the FXS slot by accessing a trunk number?

4. Do you have a choice if you are going to be connected to the FXS or FXO slot in the remote location? How exactly does this work?

5. Can you give any examples or a general situation on how you would use this link between 2 PBX systems and how the SPA-3000 would fit in.

These questions are not answered on the SIPURA website. They kind of imply that it can be done but they don’t really tell you the mechanics of it. Hopefully there is someone who is reading this with read life experience using one of these.

Thanks for your help.
