I searched for this, but couldn't find a thread. Is WinSPM compatible with Vista?

As far as a YES or NO, my experience is as follows:
I can connect using the DIRECT Connect method, but so far, using the modem is iffy at best.
It seems the modem I am using (or VISTA) is not paying any attention to the DELAY Setting WINSPM uses. I even tried an S switch, but with no results. It seems to give up trying to connect in about 3 seconds instead of the time needed.
I spoke with Interactive Northwest (The folks who wrote WINSPM) and they say they have no plans whatsoever to do any more work on it.
So, I would say the answer is YES, they are compatible, but I am having some issues.
I will update after trying a different modem.

Read this post regarding my own findings. So far, I haven't had any problem running WinSPM on Vista...even with a USB/Serial adapter. When in doubt, run WinSPM in "compatibility mode" or as an Administrator. Many older Windows programs require Administrator privileges to run. If you're unsure about how to do any of this, there is an endless number of online guides that can step you through it. Google revealed a couple of good ones, including: Windows Fanatics , PCStats , Microsoft (they're to blame, but they offer the best explanation on this topic) and The How-To Geek .

The USB/serial adapter that I recommend is the Belkin F5U109. It simply works.
What adapter are you trying to use? Did the package come with Vista drivers?
