There was a device called the PASSAGEWAY.
It was a direct connect from the Partner Set to the Serial port on the Computer. It had a dialer and a few other things.
The problem is they did not design it to work past Windows 98.

There is also an "API" card available for the ACS, which causes CID to spit out of the SMDR port at the beginning of the call. But I don't know of any third party software to take advantage of it.

Thanks for the input. what my customer is looking for is to coordinate caller ID with a customer file match up and screen pop. has anyone used "passageway" ?

Tommy...we ran into one location that was using the "API" card and had it interfaced with Goldmine and they had it working and seemed to love it...Didn't get to check it out much but they were getting screen pop's etc; Anyone else have any experience with this?

Ron telcomp came back server not found. Is this an AVAYA hosted web site/page? Or is Telecomp a software suport comp.
