I have a potential client that may want us to pick up service on their existing Merlin Legend until they are ready to purchase a new system in the next year to 18 months.
My techs and I have some "limited" programming experience on the Legend but it has been 4 or 5 years since we've worked on one and my memory is very bad.

The first thing they would want us to do is work with a new CLEC to convert over their existing ground-start lines to the CLEC's loop-start lines....they have 3 408 GS/LS cards so I know they can support the loop start but I can't remember if the card senses the line config as loop or if there is a programming change that would be needed...can somebody let me know that please?
Secondly, would any of the mods or other Legend experts be willing to provide telephone support to one of my techs on programming changes? Maybe you can PM me to let me know rates?

P.S. they have a CKE5 processor....

Thanks,
Timbo

The first choice under Lines & Trunks in Standard programming is LS/GS/DS1.

Once you select that option, you enter a SLOT Number, and that's where you can decide if they are LOOP, GROUND, or ALL LOOP or ALL GROUND.

You will remember once you see it.

Ground start is fast going the way of the Buggy Whip.

Don't forget to set the loop start reliable disconnect if there is voice mail in the system. Lines & Trunks > TT / LS Disc > LS Disconnect. This WILL save you headaches.

"Don't forget to set the loop start reliable disconnect."

That's only if he keeps the ground start lines or has provisioned T-1 with unreliable disconnect.

Been away from the board for a few days. Anyway, I am still in negotiation with my prospective customer....if all goes well, I very well may need your help and will give you a heads up.

Thanks again.
