Have a customer with a Partner ACS 5 slot carrier and about 46 extensons. They use the partner mail R3 as their Voicemail system. Not sure what release the processor is but it's probably around a 3.0. Question is they created some virtual mailboxes on their own and can not transfer an outside caller directly to the mailbox. I assumed it's because the partner system knows they are not valid extensions and won't let it through but is there a manual "leave a message" or analog type voicemail transfer so I can get an outside caller to a virtual mailbox?

Tommy would be the one to ask about this. The old Mail R3 has many similarities to the current Partner Messaging which has the same problem. There is a workaround for the PM (which I don't completely recall) but I'm not sure that it is applicable to the Mail R3. Something like transfering the call to a valid mailbox within the ACS dialplan then when the VM picks up do a *8 to the guest mailbox.

Thanks for the vote of confidence!
You can use VM Transfer (Feature 14) for any mailbox that falls within the dial plan for your particular Partner (10-33, 10-49, or 10-57 depending on the processor).
Beyond the dial plan, you have to get the caller to the voice mail, then transfer to the guest mailbox. Since the VM knows that there is not a phone associated with the mailbox, it won't try to transfer back to the phone system first.
So, while speaking to the caller, press the Transfer button and dial 777. Don't hang up yet, wait for the login prompt, as if you were going to check your mailbox for messages. Now dial *8 for Transfer, and the guest mailbox number. When you hear "Transferring Call", NOW hang up, and the caller will get the mailbox.
